What is SAM? Sam is a very small Text-To-Speech (TTS) program written in Javascript, that runs on most popular platforms. It is an adaption to Javascript of the speech software SAM (Software Automatic Mouth) for the Commodore C64 published in the year 1982 by Don't Ask Software (now SoftVoice, Inc.).

Tomislav, the guy behind BPB, is an avid SID chip enthusiast, and spurred on by the annual KVR freeware competition he pulled out all the stops to sample a treasure trove of crunchy Commodore patches.

BPB 64 is a sample-based freeware Commodore 64 virtual instrument. The included patches were sampled from three different Commodore 64 units. Audio was recorded directly from the SID chip without any additional processing. A MSSIAH cartridge was used to program the synth patches and to trigger the sampled Commodore 64 units via MIDI.
